Bocouture is a brand of botulinum toxin type A, a purified neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes muscles. It’s commonly used to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and lines.
Bocouture works by blocking the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. This relaxation of the muscles reduces the appearance of wrinkles and can prevent new ones from forming.
Bocouture is most commonly used to treat crow’s feet (around the eyes), forehead lines, and frown lines between the eyebrows. However, it can also be used for other areas and conditions, such as neck bands, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), and migraine prevention, based on clinical judgment.
Most patients experience minimal discomfort during the injection, often described as a slight pinch. The procedure is quick, and many clinics apply a topical anesthetic to reduce any pain.
The effects of Bocouture typically last between 3 to 6 months. The duration can vary based on the individual’s metabolism, the area treated, and the dose administered.
During your first appointment, a healthcare provider will discuss your medical history, examine the areas you wish to treat, and explain the potential risks and benefits. This consultation ensures that Bocouture is the right choice for your aesthetic goals.
Results from Bocouture injections can typically be seen within 3 to 5 days, with full effects becoming evident after about two weeks.
Side effects are generally mild and temporary, including bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection site. In rare cases, there may be temporary drooping of an eyelid or asymmetry, which usually resolves as the effects of the toxin wear off.
Unlike fillers, the effects of Bocouture cannot be reversed. However, the effects are temporary, and any unwanted side effects typically diminish as the toxin’s action wears off over time.
Most adults in good health are suitable candidates for Bocouture. However, it is not recommended for individuals with certain neurological diseases, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or those with allergies to botulinum toxin.
