How can a skin clinic help with rosacea?

At SKIN, we start by assessing your skin and discussing what you want to change. A treatment plan may include LED to help reduce inflammation, or IPL or vascular laser to help reduce visible redness and vessels. At SKIN, IPL and vascular laser are suitable for skin types I–III (Fitzpatrick) only, after assessment; results vary from person to person.

Your starting point

What happens at my first appointment?

You do not need to know which treatment to choose. Book “Consultation + Treatment” and tell us that redness or rosacea is your concern.

  1. Understand your skin

Tell us what bothers you and what you have already tried. Your skin therapist assesses your skin and discusses your goals in English.

  2. Agree on a plan

Talk through suitable options, expected changes, comfort, recovery and costs. Ask every question you need to before deciding.

  3. Start with care that fits

Your appointment includes a first treatment, chosen after your assessment, plus product advice. Further appointments are your choice.

Which rosacea treatment could suit me?

Sensitive, inflamed skin and visible vessels call for different considerations. Your therapist helps you decide where to start.

When calming is the priority

LED light therapy

LED uses specific wavelengths of light to help reduce inflammation. It may form part of your plan when your therapist considers it appropriate.

  • No planned downtime.
  • Suitability discussed at your consultation.

€85 per separate session

When visible vessels are the concern

IPL or vascular laser

These treatments target visible vessels and can help reduce persistent redness. The choice depends on your skin assessment.

Suitable for skin types I–III (Fitzpatrick) only. Assessment is still needed; mention recent tanning and medication.

Before you book

What does rosacea treatment cost in Amsterdam?

A Consultation + Treatment appointment starts from €100, including a skin assessment, personal plan and first treatment. Separate LED sessions cost €85. IPL or vascular laser costs €100 for 1–3 spots, €160 for part of the face or €200 for the full face per session. At SKIN, IPL and vascular laser are suitable for Fitzpatrick skin types I–III only, after assessment. Your total cost depends on the agreed plan; you do not have to book a course.

Do I need a consultation before rosacea treatment?

Yes. Choose “Consultation + Treatment” when booking and tell your therapist that redness or rosacea is your concern. The appointment starts with a skin assessment and a discussion of your goals and skincare. A first treatment is included, with the choice depending on your skin assessment. You do not need to choose a technique beforehand.

Is IPL or laser suitable for my skin tone?

At SKIN, IPL and vascular laser are suitable for skin types I–III (Fitzpatrick) only, subject to an individual assessment. Your skin tone alone does not establish suitability. Mention recent tanning and any medication at your consultation. If these treatments do not suit your skin, discuss other options with your therapist before booking treatment.

Does rosacea treatment hurt, and is there downtime?

Comfort depends on the treatment and your sensitivity. LED light therapy is a gentle option with no planned downtime. IPL and vascular laser can involve downtime of hours to days. Tell your therapist if discomfort worries you, and discuss what to expect, aftercare and your work or social plans before deciding on treatment.

What if my redness does not improve?

Results vary from person to person, and treatment may not reduce redness as much as you hope. Discuss a review point with your therapist before starting. If you are not seeing improvement, review the approach before booking more sessions. The consultation is a chance to set realistic expectations, with no obligation to book further treatment.

Should I see a skin therapist or a Dutch GP for rosacea?

A skin therapist can assess your skin and discuss treatment for visible redness and skincare. Prescription creams or tablets are handled by your GP (huisarts) or dermatologist. If you need a medical diagnosis or medication advice, start with your GP. You can book a SKIN consultation online and discuss your concerns in English.
